Hooray!!! The freshly painted shutters (in Duron’s “Historic Charleston Green”) are up on the house and I think they look great! In the above photo, you can see in the light how the shutters have a hint of green to them… otherwise, they look black.
Some of the wood shutters had deteriorated so badly that we couldn’t salvage them, so we ordered replacement replicas that should come in (hopefully soon). (In the photo below, one of the windows is missing a shutter for now, for example.)
It makes such a big difference to me so see this pretty shutters every time I drive up to our house. I just love the contrast between the shutters and the brick. Who would have thought one small detail could make such a big difference?
