I think I’ve mentioned it before, but for those of you who don’t know, David has been working on his MBA since the week Evie was born (August 20) in addition to working at his job full-time during the day. Add a 165 year old house, two rambunctious dogs, a crazy cat, a newborn and an emotional-roller-coaster-wife to the picture, and the poor guy has a LOT on his plate.
We’re really ready for his program to be done so his life can relax a little bit. I decided to surprise him with a little chalkboard countdown in our kitchen cabinet door so that he’ll see it when he opens the cabinet.
Behold, an unsuspecting cabinet door:
The inside of the door just never got painted back when we were working like maniacs painting all of our kitchen. Oops.
A quick trip to Wal-Mart and something like $7 later, I had some supplies:
— a small chalkboard
— white chalk
— durable double-sided tape
— magnetic chalk holder
My original plan was to paint the whole inside of the cabinet door with chalkboard paint but I’d been planning and putting that off for weeks because I knew it was a fairly decent time commitment. (Yes, something as little as 15 minutes is now considered a decent time commitment to me, haha!) This project took less than 2 minutes.
Behold! Our new Daddy Support Board!
