Hi everyone! Here is the “after” for the paint in the family room. Remember we chose between these colors?
And the final verdict was C2’s “Shine.” Then our family came and painted most of the room for us! (Thank you again for that!!)
They did most of the work but after they left David primed and painted the crown moulding and chair rail 6 coats to get the blue to really go away. Note to self: never paint trim dark blue!!! Anyway, yesterday I was tidying up the family room when I realized we never finished the very final coat of paint on the window trim. (Yes, I know it had been months since the painting started, and over a year since we took down the wallpaper in this room!)
I still had an hour before Evie was due to wake up from her nap, so David helped me get the paint can open and we quickly wrapped up the windows! So, ladies and gentlemen, behold the much-anticipated finally painted room!
To recap:
Wall color— “Shine” by C2 in studio interior eggshell finish
Trim color— “Capitol White” by Benjamin Moore (from their Historic Williamsburg collection) in high gloss finish
(Disclaimer: to save money, we actually took the paint color chip from Benjamin Moore to Lowe’s and had them color match it. So it might be a little bit off. We used the real deal in the kitchen and I personally can’t tell the difference!)
SO glad to finally have this room done! Next up– replacing the blinds with those horrible cords. Safety hazard for Evie plus they’re plain old ugly! We’ll see when I get around to doing it though… not the highest priority at the moment. 🙂
